Quote vs estimate: what is the difference in the UK?
An estimate is your best guess at the cost; the final bill may change. A quote is a fixed price for the work described. Customers usually prefer a quote, so describe the scope clearly and say what is not included.
Tip: write “Quote valid for 30 days” and list exclusions such as hidden damage found once work starts. This is general information, not legal advice.
